Reserved E-mail Addresses.
We trap e-mails to the following addresses:
abuse@example.com
This is to trap complaints about Internet abuse; SPAM and the like.
postmaster@example.com
This deals with technical enquiries about the SMTP (e-mail) service.
This address bypasses all our blacklists and the spam-blocking system. Anyone should be able to contact ourselves using this address.
security@example.com
This deals with security issues regarding our servers.
hostmaster@example.com
This deals with technical enquiries about the hosting servers.
blackhole@example.com
All e-mails sent here will be silently discarded. Used for testing and within CGI forms.
These addresses have a special use or meaning on our servers:
You may redirect these addresses elsewhere if you wish.
- cgi-*@example.com †
These are reserved for e-mails generated within our servers.
Examples: cgi-bin@example.com, cgi-forms@example.com. See the section on FormMail.
- webmaster@example.com
This deals with enquiries about your website.
Access logs are sent to this address by default.
- reply-2024@example.com

mail-2024@example.com
subscription-2024@example.com
These are so-called timeout addresses. They roll over at year end. Here are further details.

They are mostly anagrams of "spamtrap" by the way.

*-catch@example.com
These are used for throw-away e-mail addresses. The system is under active development, documentation to follow. Examples:
